Welcome to The Silicon Cup 2005 formerly known as the IT Regatta
In late 1999 four people got together and decided to combine their passion and their profession and try and raise meaningful amounts of money for charity. The first Silicon Cup was competed in the summer of 2000; last year the event was contested by 680 people on 71 yachts and raised £48,000 for charity.
The final figures for the 2005 event are being calculated and this site will be updated with more information over the coming weeks. The race results are available now! PUTTING SOMETHING BACK
The fundraising element of the event is significant yet not the central focus as we also wish to encourage Industry Networking, Corporate Hospitality and Teambuilding. Historically every penny raised by the various activities; entry fees, gala dinner, Irish raffle etc. is donated towards a small selection of charities. Last year's achievement of £48k was allocated between the following charities:
